On Feb. 8, Detroit indie band Who Boy released their new single "Yellow Check" after a year-long hiatus.
This new track aimed for a different mood from their original indie sound. With an ambient, yet warped feel, Who Boy’s abstract music and artwork is taking it to another level.
This record's posthumous and unformed sound, along with the emphasized use of synth pads makes the song all the more unique.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Who Boy anticipated to perform at MoPop, the Detroit Riverfront music festival which also included performances by The 1975, Phoebe Bridgers, and more. They were also performing across Michigan and the U.S. before their retreat.
